Project Overview
Located in the heart of Bangalore, Cosmo Cottage was designed as more than a premium residence. The vision was to create an urban home that balances modern luxury with emotional familiarity — a space that feels contemporary while carrying subtle memories of traditional living.
In today’s urban environment, homes are becoming increasingly compact and function-driven. Cosmo.Cottage challenges that idea by creating a living experience where openness, comfort, and connection become equally important.
This premium interior design project was developed around a central thought — creating a home where spaces coexist naturally and evolve with the people living within them.
Design Theme: Symbiotic Living
The design philosophy for Cosmo.Cottage revolves around Symbiotic Living.
In nature, systems thrive by supporting one another. Air and water, light and landscape, indoors and outdoors — every element depends on coexistence.
This idea became the foundation for the interior design approach.
Instead of treating spaces as separate rooms with rigid boundaries, the home was designed as a connected environment where experiences flow naturally from one area to another. Social spaces transition into quieter corners, common areas blend into personal spaces, and every zone contributes to a larger living experience.
The project reimagines traditional emotional connections through a contemporary interior design language.
Interior Design Challenge
Designing Cosmo Cottage in the heart of Bangalore came with a unique set of spatial and technical challenges.
Urban residences today often face a conflict between density and openness. One of the primary challenges was creating a home that felt expansive while maintaining privacy within a tightly planned urban environment.
The project involved designing multiple experiences across levels — from formal living spaces and family zones to lounge areas, outdoor interactions, and private bedrooms while ensuring visual continuity throughout the home. Managing circulation between these spaces without creating abrupt transitions became a critical design consideration.
Another key challenge was blurring the relationship between indoor and outdoor environments. The concept of Symbiotic Living relied heavily on creating seamless transitions between built spaces and open areas. This required careful spatial planning, layered visual connections, and an interior design approach where boundaries felt softer rather than rigid.
Natural light distribution also played a major role in the planning strategy. Since the project aimed to create openness and reduce the feeling of enclosure often associated with urban homes, lighting had to be carefully integrated across spaces. Large openings, material reflectivity, and layered lighting systems were used to maintain consistency throughout the residence.
The design team also worked extensively on balancing multiple material layers — wood, stone, marble finishes, textures, and lighting elements — without creating visual heaviness. The objective was to maintain a premium interior design language while preserving a sense of warmth and simplicity.
These challenges shaped Cosmo Cottage into more than a luxury residence; they became key drivers in defining its overall interior design identity.
This now sounds like an actual premium interior design case study written by a studio, not abstract theory.

Interior Design Approach
The overall interior design language follows a soft contemporary style layered with warmth and subtle luxury.
A neutral colour palette forms the base of the home while natural textures and premium finishes create visual depth. Wooden flooring introduces familiarity and warmth, while marble surfaces add refinement and balance.
Lighting played a significant role throughout the project. Cove lighting, integrated wall fixtures, and layered illumination create changing moods throughout the day and enhance the spatial experience.
Rather than using excess visual elements, the focus remained on simplicity, proportion, and carefully curated details.
Space Planning & Experience
The planning strategy focused on creating continuity across spaces.
The living and dining areas function as shared environments that encourage interaction while maintaining openness. Bedrooms transition into quieter and more personal experiences with softer textures and layered detailing.
Instead of designing each room independently, the project was approached as a complete residential interior design experience where movement through the home feels effortless.
The result creates a natural rhythm across everyday living.
Outcome
Cosmo Cottage represents a different approach to premium interior design in Bangalore.
It combines nostalgia with contemporary living, comfort with sophistication, and openness with privacy.
More than a collection of beautifully designed rooms, the project creates a home experience where modern lifestyles and emotional connections coexist naturally.
This is luxury not through excess but through experience.
